The Mirror-Lake Entity (Norway, 2021)

In June 2021, nature photographer Erik Solvang was hiking alone in the Trollheimen mountains of Norway. At around 7:15 PM, he stopped by an alpine lake to capture sunset reflections. As he set up a long-exposure shot, something odd appeared in the water: a tall, dark humanoid figure standing at the edge of the lake opposite him.

But when Erik looked up, no one was there.

Startled, he adjusted his lens. The figure remained in the reflection, unmoving — tall, with arms too long for its body and no discernible face. The sky began to shimmer faintly in the reflection, like a heatwave. He turned to grab his phone but felt a strange pressure in his ears, like altitude sickness.

Within moments, the figure in the water took a single step — ripples bloomed outward — and then it was gone. The reflection returned to normal. He reviewed the photo: nothing. But video from his DSLR caught 7 seconds of visual disturbance — a blurry humanoid where no one stood.
