The Visitor in the Thermal Camera (Chile, 2016)

During a series of forest fires in central Chile in 2016, a government drone equipped with a thermal camera was dispatched to monitor hot zones and prevent flare-ups. At 3:44 AM, the drone operator spotted a moving heat signature walking upright along a ridge near a containment line.

The figure was clearly humanoid — two legs, two arms, upright gait — but moved too smoothly and with no deviation in body temperature. It passed within 30 feet of active flames yet showed no change in its heat profile.

The oddest part: the pilot, on site, saw nothing with the naked eye. No one was near the fire perimeter, and no gear or boot prints were found afterward. The drone’s footage was archived but never publicly released — though screenshots were leaked to local news, showing a glowing figure that matched no known wildlife or equipment.
